First off, I want to apologize if your child came home with paint on their clothes. We tried our best to make sure paint didn't get on our shirts, but sometimes things happen. The good news is, the paint is definitely washable :) And the art projects turned out amazingly! Check out the picture!
Today, we talked about fall and how the leaves change colour. They wondered why the leaves change colour, so we talked about that as well. Our art projects, as you can see, went well with this lesson.
In the morning, we read our pocket chart poem about apples. Your children read the poem, pulled out the words, but the poem back together, and then attempted to write out some of the colour words. Then we practiced writing out our names using highlighters. Sometimes it's more fun to use a writing tool other than a pencil. The highlighters were a hit. Please continue to help your child practice writing their names...spelling names correctly is proving to be a challenge for some students. Practice makes permanent so please make sure they are spelling their names properly.
Reminders:
• Tomorrow we have big buddies! We will join classes with the Grade 4 class for an hour in the afternoon to do an art project. Throughout the year, we will do big buddy activities :
• Please return the homework folder to school every day.
• If you haven't returned the communication book, please do so ASAP
• Library books need to be back at school by Friday
• Please remember to return the brown bag to school tomorrow, with three items to represent your child
Blessings,
Mrs. Marshall
