Your children were awesome listeners today! Often, Mondays can be challenging because students forget some classroom routines over the weekend...not your kids! They walked in the hallway with "hand on hip and finger on lip", they sat quietly on the carpet and then when it came time to do seat work, they diligently worked and accomplished their tasks! Well done Kindergarten 1!
This morning we returned to Letterland to meet Golden Girl and Harry Hat Man. Afterwards, we worked on printing our names and doing other fine motor activities with pencils. Please help your child practice writing their name :) The more practice they get, the better.
In math we learned about pictographs. We graphed how many both and girls there are in the class. We discovered that, if you could me, we have the same number of boys and girls in the class!
After lunch was music. They learned how to use hand bells today. Then we read a poem (picture below). We are learning that we need to look at pictures for clues when reading. The students were able to understand the pattern of the writing and by the end, they were reading the poem by themselves! Today your child read!
Reminders
• Bring back the communication book
• Return library books by Friday
• Help your child complete their homework tonight: They have to fill the boxes with the various lines. By doing these lines, they will be able to form most of the letters of the alphabet. Practice makes permanent, so please help your child to practice forming these lines correctly.
