Today was Stuffy Day! We did a lot of activities with stuffs: sang songs, took pictures, read stories, and brainstormed a list of "I like my stuffy because...". Below is a picture. I was also able to introduce my stuffy: Dexter, who has the heart of a hero. Dexter wanted to become a hero so he worked really hard to build his physical stamina. Believe it or not, this connects to reading :) Continuing with our lessons about reading, we learned that we need to be building reading stamina! Just like Dexter had to exercise and practice different skills to become strong, we need to practice and build stamina in order to read silently for longer periods of time. We can't just sit down and read for 20 minutes without any practice! Our silent reading goal today was two minutes....and we made it!! Yay! In the afternoon, we continued making our Creation Book. Paints have become a favourite art tool. You'll be very pleased when these books finally come home in October :) Reminders: • Today was the first day of library, so your child was able to take home one book. Please make sure that this book is returned to school before Friday October 2. • An October calendar will be coming home on Monday. I was going to send it home today, but forgot. Sorry! Blessings, Mrs. Marshall |
