Welcome to the Thanksgiving weekend!
Today was a whirlwind of activity. We started the day off with making turkey hats (your children should have brought them home). We also finished up our Thanksgiving prayer booklet. This came home so you could read it together over the weekend. The students thanked God for things that they were thankful for. They were thankful for a lot of things: rollercoasters, siblings, rocketships, parents, school, the Earth, the sun, etc.
In math, I introduced the concepts of position words: inside, outside, beside, over, under, etc.
In the afternoon, Mrs. Gray's class and my class came together. We did a turkey dance while wearing our turkey hats, played turkey tag while wearing our hats, and learned a turkey poem:
The turkey is a funny bird.
It's head goes bobble, bobble
And all it knows is just one word.
And that is gobble, gobble.
Afterwards, the students continued to learn the words to O Canada. Here is a link to them singing the song. Aren't they doing a great job!?

Afterwards, the students met Mrs. Turkey the detective (Me dressed up). We did an apple investigation to find out if apples float or sink, how many seeds are in the apple, what an apple tastes like, and what an apple looks like. Mrs. Turkey the detective had a blast with the Kindergarten class!
Have a great weekend!
