This morning we started our new Bible verse, which we will be working on for two weeks. "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever." Please help your child practice this at home! They did an awesome job performing the last verse in front of the class. You have brilliant children :)
We reviewed the sounds that our Letterland friends make: Annie Apple, Bouncy Ben, Clever Cat, Dippy Duck, Eddy Elephant, Firefighter Fred, Golden Girl, Harry Hatman, Ippy Ink, Jumping Jim, Kicking King, Lucy Lamp Light, Munching Mike, Noisy Nick.
We also continued to build our reading stamina. We can now read for 5 minutes without talking or getting distracted. We are learning to read the pictures of the books. When we reach 15 minutes of uninterrupted reading, we will have a party: we'll build blanket forts, and read books in our forts while using flashlights to see the pages.
After lunch, we learned a new poem in honour of Thanksgiving, called the Funny Turkey. We also had play centres. Afterwards, we read a story by Max Lucado called Just in Case You Wonder. We talked about how much Moms and Dads love their children, and how much I love them, and most importantly, how much Jesus loves them.
Reminders:
- Homework tonight: Students have to use pencil to complete their work. I'm teaching them that we use pencil to write because we can erase pencil.
- No school on Friday or Monday
- No elementary school chapel tomorrow. Early dismissal tomorrow at 2:05 a.m.
Blessings,
Mrs. Marshall
