I love Wednesday mornings because we start the morning with chapel! We sang songs to worship Jesus and then we heard a story from Mrs. Bartz and Mrs. Poetker about David and Goliath. Even though David was small, he did great things for God! Mrs. Bartz and Mrs. Poetker challenged the students to do great things for God too. Even though the students are small, they can do BIG things!!
Afterwards, we learned how to bring Cc. We talked about how big letters are for important things like names.
In math, we started looking at story problems. The students' homework tonight is to do some story problems with you. They did a great job in class! I hope they do a great job at home too :)
After lunch we had a special lesson with our big buddy class. We read a story about friendship and then we made a friendship snack. Friendship is like a recipe. So we made a Friendship Snack (each ingredient in the snack represented something important that we need to do in order to be a good friend):
- Goldfish crackers are the kind kids in the classroom
- Teddy Graham crackers are the hard workers in the classroom
- Marshmallows are the kind words being said
- M&Ms are the happiness we feel when we have a good friend
- Pretzels are the students who share with others.
Then we got to eat our friendship snack with our big buddies! It was a grand time!
Reminders:
• Homework tonight is to do story problems with your child (in their homework folder)
• Return homework folder every day
• Make sure communication books are returned by Monday
• Library is coming up on Friday.
• Bible verse of the week: Cast your cares on the Lord, and He will sustain you. Psalm 55:22
Blessings,
Mrs. Marshall
