This morning we learned some big words. We sing a song called "The Fruit of the Spirit is not a Coconut". We learned what the Fruit of the Spirit is not, and we also what it is! We talked about what it means to show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here are some of their great discussion points:
Love means to be a good friend
Patience means to wait calmly. (I loved this point about being calm when waiting!)
Faithfulness means to believe in God and obey what He says
Gentleness means to use your hands kindly.
Self-control means to be able to calm yourself. (We talked about strategies to calm yourself too: take a deep breath, hug yourself so you won't be tempted to touch others, etc.)
I was super impressed with the ideas that they came up with!
Other highlights of the day:
• We made Clever Cat as an art activity. Aren't they cute?! (picture below)
• We learned about sorting in Math. Students are learning how to sort objects into groups.
Reminders:
• No homework tonight (Mrs. Marshall forgot to print it off...oops!). Enjoy reading with your child tonight!
• Reader's Circle is on Monday. Please let me know if you can help and/ or bring a snack
• Mr. Johnson sent an email out about Halloween at this school. Just a reminder that we do not celebrate Halloween. We do have Harvest Fest though!
• Chapel is tomorrow morning. Parents are very welcome to come!
Blessings,
Mrs. Marshall
