We started the morning by reading a devotional to reinforce that God created the world in six days! We also learned that the Bible is a message from God to us, so it's important to read. We also performed our memory verses for the class. Everyone is given the opportunity to sit in the teacher chair and say their Bible verse.
Highlights of the day:
• Students did Literacy Centres this morning. They are loving Centres and are continuing to learn how to work as a small group and problem solve for themselves, instead of coming to me with their problems.
• We used pattern blocks to make designs in math today.
• We have maintained our 10 minutes of silent reading stamina! On Monday, we will try to get to 11 minutes of reading stamina. (Picture below of our reading stamina graph)
• We had library!
• We started to discuss what students already knew about pumpkins. They know a lot! And they asked some great questions about what they are still wondering about pumpkins. For example, why do pumpkins have lines (segments)? I'm excited to teach them new things :) (picture below of our chart about pumpkins)
Reminders:
• No homework tonight
• Monday is grandparents day from 10-11:30. All grandparents are welcome to come see what the school is like, and to see what their grandkids are learning at school. It will be a great morning!
Have a great weekend!
