It was wonderful to have all the children back at school. We had a great time talking about what we did over the break. We wrote about what we did in our journals. We reviewed classroom expectations and talked about out new classroom routines.
Our Letterland character this week is Impy Ink and our sight word of the week is "is".
Here's the Communication Books message for this week:
Dear Mom and Dad,
Wow! I can’t believe that it’s already 2016. It’s a New Year and we are starting some New Routines! We will be starting Math Groups and Reading Groups. These are designed to better meet students’ individual learning needs. We will all be placed into group so that Mrs. Marshall can help us learn at our own pace. Along with the Reading Groups, starting next week, we will start bringing Home Reading books every night. More information on this will follow. If you have any questions about the Math or Reading groups, please don’t hesitate to ask Mrs. Marshall.
I have brought home my homework folder today with a few handouts in it. The first hand out is a list of all the Memory Verses that we have done and are going to do. Hopefully this helps when I am practicing my verse.
The second notice is a field trip notice. Since we are learning about Communities, we are going to explore the community! Please return the permission form by Monday, January 11.
There is also a January calendar, and a notice about the new Show and Tell program that we are starting. We will start tomorrow :). Our first special helper of the week will start new week on Monday.
The letter of the week is “Ii” and our memory verse is “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11”. Please help me practice this verse. I will have the chance to say it on Friday.
Please also check your child’s sweaters for names. Just before the break, several sweaters went missing. Many people have written a name on the tag in the back. We would love for everyone to have their sweaters back. Thanks for your help with this!
