Today was field trip day! We walked around the community trying to find things like construction signs, garbage cans, stop signs and animals. We saw cats and bunnies. It was an awesome time. We even reviewed the rules of road safety, such as looking both ways before crossing the street.
We also have a special guest in our classroom today. Miss V is a teacher and she is volunteering her time at Regent! She worked with the students and got to see how our class works together. She helped out during Math, read a story to the students and drew pictures of things that start with the letter Gg.
Communication Books went home today. Here is the message:
Dear Mom and Dad,
Today we went on our Community Walk. We had to look for different things such as basketball hoops, mailboxes, cars, and dogs. It was a great time! Thank you for dressing me appropriately for the weather :)
This week the memory verse is “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Psalm 107:1”. The letter of the week is “Gg” and the sight word of the week is “and”. We are playing a game at school where we look for the sight word in books. If we find the word, Mrs. Marshall gives us a sticker. If you’d like to, please play a similar game with me at home while we are reading books.
Next Monday (January 25) is Reader’s Circle. If you are able to come first thing in the morning to read or if you are able to bring a snack, please let Mrs. Marshall know.
Reminders:
Have a great evening!
Mrs. Marshall
