Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this last week of gradual entry. By doing gradual entry, I was able to help your child learn many of the classroom routines in a smaller group; this helped them to feel more comfortable and safe in the classroom. We learned how to put "hand on hip, and finger on lip" while walking through the hallways to remind us not to touch things or to speak. We met many new people, including: Mr. Bryerton (the Vice Principal), Mr. Johnson (the Principal) and Mrs Palmer (the secretary). It was a great week to learn all the routines of the school and classroom.
Starting on Monday, September 21, we will be starting all day school! How exciting?! You can drop your Kindergartener off in the normal morning drop-off area (by the frosted windows). I will come to get the children at 8:10. At the end of the day, please come to the classroom at 2:40 to pick up your child.
I'm so excited that they get to meet new friends on Monday, as all the students will be coming together for the first time. I know it will be a great day! Please remind your child that they are coming to school for a full day and that there will be new friends in the class; this way, they are not shocked when they step into a classroom full of unfamiliar faces.
Also, a field trip permission form was sent home on Friday; we are going to the pumpkin patch on October 2, 2015. Please return these notices to me ASAP, no later than Friday September 25.
Have a great weekend! God bless.
