Highlights from today:
• Mrs. Gray and I talked in chapel. We showed a clip from Spiderman and we talked about the Bible character, Rahab. Here's a little excerpt from the lesson:
Rahab was a hero because she saved the lives of the spies. If we read the rest of this story in the Bible, in Joshua Chapter 2, we’ll see that her courage to do what was right for God eventually led to the saving of her life and the lives of all of her family. Rahab’s past was filled with things we could not even imagine, choices that were not always best—yet God chose to use her, not to just save the spies, but to be a part of saving you and me. Her life not only turned around for God’s sake, but she went on to be a part of Jesus’ family line listed in Matthew 1. She turned her life around and God used her to bring his own Son into this world.
• In big buddies, we made Love bugs to hold our Valentine Cards. You'll get to see these Love Bugs on Friday when they come home on Friday afternoon.
• In Bible we are talking about the miracles of Jesus. A miracle is something that only God can do. Since Jesus is the son of God, He is able to do miracles. The story we learned today was about Jesus healing a Sick Boy.
• In Social Studies we are talking about Needs and Wants. A 'need' is something that we have to have in order to live. For example, we need a house, clothes, food and water. Wants are things that we don't have to have, but they are nice to have sometimes. For example, a new toy, an ice cream cone, or candy.
Reminders:
• Library books back by Friday
• Field Trip permission forms back ASAP
• Home reading books will come home tomorrow, on Thursday.
• We are having a Valentine's party on Friday afternoon. If you are able to bring a snack to share with the class, please let me know.
Blessings,
Mrs. Marshall
