Dear Mom and Dad,
It’s hard to believe that February is already here! There are so many routines and things happening now, it’s awesome. Here are some of our routines, in case you were wondering or needed reminders:
- Communication Books (the letter you are reading right now) come home every Monday in a large ziplock bag with my name on it. When you have read the letter, please help me to put it back into the ziplock, then into my backpack so I can return it to school.
- On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we have Math Groups: Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Gray combine the Kindergarten classes and we are put into Math groups. In our groups we do Math games and Math activities. It’s fun to sometimes have Mrs. Gray teaching us!
- On Monday and Thursdays we do Home Reading. Home Reading books will come home in a large ziplock bag with our name on it. These are NOT colouring books. Please DO NOT let me colour in them! Please help me practice reading the book and return it to school the next day so Mrs. Marshall can read it with me. If I read it fluently, I get another point towards a prize (after reading ten books, I get a prize). If I struggle to read it fluently, Mrs. Marshall will send it home so I can practice some more :) Practice makes permanent.
- Show and Tell happens every day. I have a specific day that I can bring Show and Tell. I must bring something that starts with the Letter of the Week. This week, the letter is Pp.
- We practice our Bible Memory Verse every day at school and we say it on Fridays. This week, the memory verse is “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Philippians 4:6
Reminders
- No school on Feb. 3, 4 and 8
- February 12 will be Friendship Day. If you would like to bring a special Valentine Treat for the class to share, please let Mrs. Marshall know. We are also allowed to wear red or pink that day.
